Liz Jones

Liz Jones lives in Woodville, Wisconsin and is a candidate for the Wisconsin State Assembly for the 29th District.
Liz has a Master's degree in organizational leadership with a concentration in strategic management, as well as legal training. Her education focused on ethics and leadership and helped her to develop as an Ethical, Effective, and Enduring leader.
When Liz talks about what drove her to get involved in politics, she speaks from her personal experience and from her heart. Liz grew up as a foster child, was a teen parent and a high school drop out. She raised her son on her own and lived the struggle similar to many people in her community. She struggled to find resources as a young parent such as having healthcare for her son and herself, being able to get an education, and finding a job that would pay enough money to feed her son and pay for daycare. She struggled to get child support to help provide for him and had to work with the school system to address his special needs.
Liz has worked in business environments and in the field of social justice and human rights and has served in a variety of roles in local public policy. Currently she works at a law firm in Hudson, teaches yoga, and offers community wellness classes.
Liz believes that Madison needs to bring creative options to its communities to promote economic growth, creating living wage jobs and reducing unemployment. And that Wisconsin needs to find a way to have fair taxes, helping families and individuals keep what they have worked for and creating resources to help those in need rise up.
