Rhodesia Ransom

Rhodesia Ransom is a native of San Francisco, where she attended San Francisco State University and received a bachelor's degree in Political Science. Currently she is principal and operations manager for Universal Finance Inc. and was appointed to the City of Tracy Planning Commission

Rhodesia has an excellent record of public service and community leadership and has held positions for several boards and associations including the Tracy Performing Arts Foundation and Tracy African American Association. From 2006-2008 Rhodesia served as a member and vice foreperson on the San Joaquin County Civil Grand Jury, an investigative body providing oversight to governmental agencies throughout the county. As a result of her distinguished record of service, the Central Valley Drum Magazine featured her as the "2007 Grassroots Activist."

A member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. for 10 years, Rhodesia is a charter member and vice president of her chapter. She also served as chairperson of both the Delta Academy mentoring program and the Social Action Committee, where she was responsible for promoting active participation in political and social issues.

Most recently, Rhodesia traveled to Colorado and worked with the Obama campaign as Deputy Field Organizer assigned to the mail-in ballot project which helped voters mitigate problems with the absentee voter process.
