Rachel Norton

Rachel Powell Norton is a part-time editorial consultant working with several for-profit and non-profit clients. She also spends considerable time doing advocacy work as an active member of several organizations: the San Francisco Unified School District's Community Advisory Committee for Special Education, Parents for Public Schools-San Francisco, and the Autism Speaks Bay Area Advocacy Committee.

Previously, Rachel spent six years as an editor at The New York Times, and two years as a reporter for Reuters. She has also worked for CNET: The Computer Network and Interactive Bureau, and co-taught the Visual Journalism course offered at U.C. Berkeley's Graduate School of Journalism in 1996 and 1997.

Rachel was born and raised in Berkeley, California and graduated with honors from Barnard College in 1988. She currently lives in San Francisco with her husband Tim and their two daughters.
