Ludmyrna Lopez

Ludmyrna Lopez was elected to the Richmond City Council in 2006-her first bid for elected office. Her governance delivers responsive and reliable public services, prioritizes public safety, and creates an environment for responsible economic investment and job creation. Prior to running for City Council, Ludmyrna served on the Richmond Planning Commission over 4 years and continues to be active on boards and committees, including the West Contra Costa School District Community Bond Oversight Committee. She is co-founder of the Latina/o Democratic Club in West Contra Costa County, and enjoys mentoring Richmond youth to foster their educational goals.
Ludmyrna is currently Principal Financial Analyst for the City of Oakland. Ludmyrna has worked for Mayor Willie L. Brown, Jr. as a Senior Fiscal Analyst for the City and County of San Francisco. Previous positions include: Finance Officer for the San Francisco Department of Child Support Services, several leadership positions within the U. S. Environmental Protection Agency in Washington, D.C., and work with the California State Assembly.
Ludmyrna holds a Masters of Science in Public Policy from Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, PA and a Bachelor's of Arts in Liberal Studies/Business Administration from California State University at Hayward.
