Penny Bernard-Schaber

Penny is currently serving her first term in the Wisconsin State Assembly representing the 57th district. She has lived and worked in Appleton and the Fox Valley area for 25 years. Penny was raised in Mundelein, Illinois and remained in Illinois to complete her Associate and Bachelor's of Science degree from Southern Illinois University. After graduation, she had the opportunity to volunteer for the Peace Corps working at a hospital in Campino Grande, Brazil. Upon retuning to the United States, Penny attended Northwestern University in Chicago where she received a degree in physical therapy. Her career in healthcare brought her to Wisconsin.
Penny became involved in and more informed about the community by attending City Council and County Board meetings. Her passion for the environment led her to become active in the Fox River Cleanup Plan.
For 18 years now,she has been happily married to her husband, Dale, who was a Media Specialist for the Appleton School District for 29 years . Dale, recently retired, has a passion for the education of our youth and worked for the Appleton School District for 35 years.
