Cheryl Cage

Cheryl was born into a military family. Her father, Colonel Basil Adams, was a 30-year veteran of the Army Infantry. After graduating college, Cheryl worked as a Flight Attendant for Braniff International. During her time there she was a member of the Association of Flight Attendants (AFA).
Cheryl has been the President and Founder of Cage Consulting, Inc. (an aviation career consulting firm) since 1988. Over 25,000 pilots have used the services of Cage Consulting in preparing for pilot interviews and over 100,000 copies of Cage Consulting aviation and business career books have been sold.
In addition to her work with individual clients, from 1990 to 2001 Cheryl served as an Independent Consultant to the Air Line Pilots Association (ALPA). During this time she presented pilot interview preparation seminars to over 5,000 displaced ALPA pilots from PanAm, Midway, USAirways, TWA, Air Wisconsin, West Air, and Aspen Airways to name a few. In 2001 Cheryl was retained by the Allied Pilots Association (the pilot union for American Airlines) and the United Airlines ALPA to present job search workshops for their furloughed pilot members.
Cheryl has been involved in grassroots community activism for over twenty years, but had not personally considered running for office until she found Emerge Arizona. Most recently she jump-started Don Jorgensen's 2008 campaign for the LD-26 House of Representatives seat. In 2006, she helped Lena Saradnik, an Emerge Arizona graduate, run a successful campaign for State Representative.
After helping Lena with her campaign, Cheryl decided it was time to make the shift from campaign manager to being a State Senate candidate in 2006. "Emerge gave me the confidence to make the transition. When I started running, I realized I had no clue what Lena was going through until I was in her shoes." Although Cheryl was unsuccessful in her first campaign, she feels extremely prepared for her next election in November 2010. "The Emerge training pops up every day on the campaign trail, and the network of passionate women that I can call upon is invaluable," she said.
Cheryl has a B.A. in Psychology from Plymouth State University in New Hampshire and has been married for 27 years to Young Cage, with two children and six grandchildren.
